Changani Beach Yoga Retreat – June 2012

This is a shot of me and some of my favourite peeps at a retreat I ran in Dar es Salaam with my friend and fellow teacher Gillian Dougherty.  We spent the weekend on our mats, in the ocean — and as you can see, on the sand!

I have been practicing yoga for the last 8 years.  For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to India – its people, its culture and, of course, its food! In 2010 I packed a bag and headed out on a self-titled spiritquest, planning six months in India and Nepal.

But once you set foot out the door, you never know where life is going to take you, right? Three months later I ended up moving to Tanzania, where I worked for about a year and a half.

So it only seemed fitting that when I decided to follow my heart and become a yoga teacher, I returned once again to its birthplace.  I completed my teacher training with Vijay Amar in Dharmshala, India and am a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certified teacher.

I’m excited and honoured to share my yoga practice with you!
